About the Photographer

Hi, I’m Camilla.

I’m a self-taught photographer and for the past four years I have worked with amazing people around the world doing lifestyle portraits and destination wedding photography. I know it’s hard getting to know someone over the internet, but hopefully after reading this and exploring my blog and portfolio, you’ll feel like you know me a little. Once you have done so I would love to hear from you so I can help you decide if I am the right person to photograph you, your kids, or your wedding.

I do not have an official photography education, but I have an intuitive creative eye, I love beautiful things and when I want something I work very hard to achieve it.

Since childhood I have loved water colour painting and drawing portraits. This two art forms influence wy work as a photographer. I love to photograph people, both adults and children, seeing their personality come to life in front of me; and to create images full of beautiful light and soft colours. As a teenager I was an eager nature photography, playing with my fathers old Pentax camera and b/w film. In 2008, I hesitantly accepted to shoot a friend’s wedding and it was love a first click. I love the pace, the expected unexpected, anticipating the best moments and all the emotions and details just waiting to be captured. After having children of my own I have also gained a deeper understanding of the desire to stop time, capturing the well-known and beloved personality and smile of one’s child. Time flies and with my work I can stop time for my clients and create memories of special moments and loved ones. That is the best job in the world!

Although I have worked with many clients over the years, I still can’t sleep the night before a big wedding. It never becomes a habit, a routine. It’s always a new day, a new person with a new story, new light… and I always take my work and responsibility seriously.

I thrive working with people who think outside the box, don’t take themselves too seriously, love the outdoors and value photography.

Although I am a very independent woman, I know that it would be impossible to do the work I do without the support I constantly receive from the people closest to me. I know love when I see it, because I am surrounded by it every day.

I live with my husband and two small kids Ida and Emil, one a hobby farm on the tiny island, Ærø, in Denmark. I love to cook for family and friends and find my peaceful moments working in my cottage garden, an ongoing project (I’m a bit of a garden nerd:) It’s my ‘secret’ dream to one day publish a book with recepies and beautiful photographs from my garden. My husband says I buy way to many international lifestyle magazines (I call it research;). I love Shop Ruche, can spend hours on Etsy, cheese cake, and the smell of lavender… oh and shoes, I love to photograph shoes.
